Polargonia is an alt-rock band started from a melancholic seed that blossomed into beautiful compositions telling stories about yearning, loneliness and love. Polargonia blends moody atmospheres with dynamic guitar work and emotional lyrics with the rawest vocal sound, creating a soundscape that lives somewhere between the ethereal and the urgent. Melodies that take you elsewhere, lyrics that make you feel things and rhythm that makes you want to move.
That.. is what Polargonia is all about.
Niilo Rantala on suomalainen lauluntekijä, vuoden 2023 tangoprinssi, Kotimaa-lehden toimittaja ja kulttuurialojen sekatyöläinen, joka on esiintynyt yksin sekä eri kokoonpanojen kanssa vuosituhannen alusta asti. Oman tuotantonsa lisäksi Rantala on keskittynyt esittämään vahvoja tarinallisia lauluja aina Jacques Brellistä Alfred J. Tanneriin ja Juha Vainiosta Kaj Chydeniukseen.
